Are you one of the people who are suffering from a sudden sharp lower back pain more than once lately? If so, then it is time for you to do something about it and find out the causes that has triggered it. You need to get a proper and accurate diagnosis in order to see what kind of treatment is right for you. After you have your medical examination, you can clearly see the possible causes based on the individual’s past activities.

The signs for lower back pain usually include a recurring pain in the lower back, behind the legs, and even the feeling of numbness, tingling and weakness. People who are suffering from bowel or bladder problems have severe cases of lower back pain than normal people.

There are common causes of lower back pain. It includes abrupt exertion, bending, lifting heavy objects, sitting or lying down in an awkward stance, standing, and twisting in a careless manner. These can all happen anywhere—whether during an exercise or doing regular household chores.

If an individual do not experience any of the causes of lower back pain, then it is a must to seek medical opinion in order to eliminate all the other potentials for lower back pain. It may be spinal stenosis or the restricted spinal cord and nerve root channels; arthritis; infection in the spine; and cancer of the spine or spondylolisthesis.

Sharp lower back pain can turn out to be a recurring condition if it is not treated in the first developing stages. That is why medical professionals, including physical trainers and gym instructors must know how to lead people to exercising the right way and correcting those people who exercise too much and those who lack the right knowledge on physical techniques. Sadly, there are some patients who tend to ignore the warnings of sharp lower back pain because they think it can go away that easily. This is an example of a wrong thinking for it needs to be addressed right away before it worsens. Many people do not know that to ignore these warnings of the body to the individual means a greater aggravation of the painful condition. Thus, the tolerant information on the condition is very extremely important to perform an appropriate warning.

In order to treat these properly, the doctor is still the best source you can get knowledge about lower back pain from. The possibilities must be looked at and studied before making an accurate diagnosis of the condition. Once the diagnosis is made, then the treatment can begin with no delay.

An examination of the condition involves a slow and cautious palpation of the spine carried out of the abdomen. This is done in order to determine the cause of displacements, muscle spasms, and sore points and if any organ is involved in the cause of pain. Doctors may prefer undergoing a wide range of assessments such as neurological assessments, lab tests, and imaging studies. In this way, you can be ensured that the cause you found is accurate.

Kidney pain and lower back pain have the same symptoms but they have completely different causes. For example, a person can suffer from back pain symptoms which are brought on by a kidney infection. Another person, on the other hand, may experience similar symptoms but the cause is a back problem.

In order to know whether it is a kidney infection or a back problem that is causing the symptoms, you have to be familiar with lower back pain and kidney pain. You also need to know the symptoms that lead to kidney infection and how to deal with them so that you can treat yourself well.

Our kidneys can be found at the left and right side of our spines, and exactly above our hips. The pain also occurs in these areas and it can also spread outwards, resulting to further complications. People illustrate the symptoms as a normal tenderness or ache instead of pain. This pain may be linked to back problems rather than the kidneys. It can be caused by a kidney infection or a kidney injury itself.

Kidney injuries may be caused by a fall that has affected the kidney so bad that it has been damaged. Aside from physical trauma, there are also other symptoms that are linked to kidney infection. The pain that is due to physical trauma is actually more common than physical trauma. Fever, urinating with pain and blood in the urine are also other symptoms that may occur.

If a person has a kidney infection, he or she has to watch out for the following symptoms: backache, chills, fever, nausea, pain and tenderness near the infected kidney. When a person visits a medical doctor, he or she will make a diagnosis through kidney functioning tests or through a bacterial test. Two types of assessments are needed because there are two regular kinds of kidney disorders with different causes. The doctor will usually advise rest and medications such as antibiotics for bacterial infections as treatment. Treatment usually lasts for several weeks but some people may experience structural issues that may demand a longer period of time or prolonged treatment.

The most important thing to do is look for the right information that may be causing your pain instead of undergoing self-diagnose yourself. You still need to make sure you are doing the right treatment. But if you left a kidney infection untreated for years, you will surely have serious health problems that will be harder to cure. If your family has history of kidney infection, you need to visit a doctor in order to guide you of the necessary precautions. If you have in recent times been involved in a fall or a car accident and had some personal trauma, then it is also advisable to go see a medical doctor. A doctor will be the only one to tell you what has caused your lower back pain: whether it is over exertion or poor posture. You still have to keep in mind that you have to cure the right condition.

Lower Back Pain Causes

Almost every family has been suffering from lower back pain and they all have to handle it. But what really causes this irritating pain? The causes of lower back pain can actually range from a normal strain to complicated conditions like bony encroachment, lumbar strain, lumbar radiculopathy, nerve irritation and other discomforts that are related to joints and bones.

Once you visit a doctor, he or she will explain three categories of lower back pain. Your lower back pain may be categorized in one of these:

Axial Lower Back Pain

This kind of back pain is quite mechanical and simple and it is the most common type of all back pains. It does not move into the buttocks, feet, legs or in other areas of the body. It also varies from sharp or dull pain, intermittent pain, and even mild to severe pain. It is usually characterized from doing certain activities such as sports or certain body positions such as prolonged sitting.

Radicular Lower Back Pain

This type of back pain is also known as the sciatica condition. The pain starts from the hips, buttocks, and down to the leg. The term sciatica refers to the sciatic nerve, which travels from the lower back through the buttocks and into the leg, is the main cause of the pain. When one of the herniated lumber discs compressed one of the sciatic nerves, damage to the discs occurs. This may be caused by the wear and tear of the outer ring of the disc or traumatic injury, or even both. This is called lumbar radiculopathy.

Lower Back Pain with Referred Pain

The pain from referred pain usually begins in the low back area and heightens in the buttocks, groins and thighs. Though the pain can move around, it does not involve the knee area. This can be due to an injury or axial lower back pain itself. The pain can also range from mild or severe, migratory and dull.

Nerve Irritation

This type is one of the least common types of lower back pain. The nerves in the lumbar spine become irritated by the mechanical impingement or illness along the pats through the roots of the spinal cord to the skin surface. It may also include lumbar disc disease or radiculopathy, body encroachment, and inflammation of the nerves due to shingles or an unpopular kind of viral infection. Lumbar radiculopathy is related to nerve irritation. The wear and tear of the discs can be caused by lifting heavy objects or trauma. Doing an X-ray examination test is needed in order to see all the bone abnormalities if there are any.

Body Encroachment

This type of lower body pain is due to the development of the vertebrae of the lumbar spine which limits the space between the nerves and the adjacent spinal cord. This is also related to sciatica pain which can flow into the lower extremities. Usually this can be cured depending on the severity of the conditions. A person who experiences this can undergo surgical procedure or decompression where the bone that invades the nerves is removed.

Other causes of lower back pain include joint and bone conditions like spina bifida and scoliosis. This may be due to degenerative process or injury or just the normal swelling of joints or arthritis.
