			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Low back pain</strong> becomes more prominent in individuals between the ages of Thirty to Fifty years.  Also it is important to know that every 4 out of 5 people either male or female are susceptible to undergo low back pain at least once in their entire life cycle. Although low back pain causes due to sedentary life style with inappropriate exercise as per individual physical conditions, but the main reason behind it is an aging process between these mentioned ages. These facts are revealed by a very well known recently published study.</p>
<p>Low back pain may bring discomfort and anxiety, but its treatments are very simple and easy to adopt. Now a day, the treatment for low back pain includes analgesics, restoration of functions and strengthening back muscles, anti-inflammatory medicines and prevention of recurrent episodes, but in rare conditions it required surgery.</p>
<p><strong>Below are few guidelines for Low back pain</strong></p>
<p><strong>Exercise</strong></p>
<p>There is a chart available with specialists for the exercises during low back pain, so that you can recover speedily. These exercises should learn properly from a physiotherapist or specialist. Initially you need to do it carefully and can be increased as you get accustomed of it.  If any tenderness or inflammation persist, immediately stop the exercise and consult doctor, he will guide you whether to stop or reduce the frequency. Most of the patients suffering of low back pain have benefitted with these low back pain exercises. These exercises not only give the relief but also strengthen the low back muscles and correct any skeletal irregularity.</p>
<p><strong>Heat/ Ice Packs </strong></p>
<p>Followed by a trauma, many people believe in applying the heat compresses or ice pack compresses for low back pain on the affected area for reducing inflammation, pain and allowing a greater mobility. Although these compresses have not clinically proved for low back pain, but still it is widely used as treatment for low back pain.</p>
<p><strong>How to Apply</strong></p>
<p>•    For about first 2-3 days, affected area should be given ice/cold compresses up to 20 minutes each for several times a day.<br />
•     Then after, heat compresses to be applied for a brief periods. It improves the blood flow and assists to relax the muscles.</p>
<p><strong>Bed Rest</strong></p>
<p>It is better to continue the daily activities after a trauma of <strong>low back pain</strong> rather than taking prolonged bed rest. Yes, the bed rest in the case of low back pain is recommended for one or two days but no longer than this period. It is proved by a Finnish scientist when he conducted a study in 1996. As per his study, after trauma the people who stayed in their bed for weeks appeared to have lesser flexibility than those who opted to continue with their daily routines. To support it, other studies also suggested that there could be other complications, like depression, clotting of blood and decreased muscle tone, may also developed due to excessive bed rest.</p>
